Plumeria, also known as frangipani, is a tropical flowering plant native to Central and South America, known for its beautiful, fragrant flowers used in garlands, religious ceremonies, and traditional medicine. Commonly called the “temple tree” or “champa,” it grows abundantly in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide, particularly in places like Hawaii and India. The plant’s flowers, which can be white, yellow, pink, or red, are pollinated by night-flying moths and are culturally significant in many places, from symbolising purity in India to being associated with ghosts in parts of Southeast Asia.
